Chicago - The Chicago annual Debs Day Dinner, held this year on November 23, has been reported as the most successful dinner, both from the standpoint of attendance and of fund-raising, since the Debs Day Dinner honoring Norman Thomas' seventy-fifth birthday. Bayard Rustin and James Farmer were guest speakers on the theme "America's Unfinished Revolution." The Chicago South Side Branch also reports a discussion series on unemployment beginning November 10, a meeting on December 6 on "The Machine in Chicago" with Councilman Leon Despres as speaker, and a meeting on January 12 on "The Urban Prison: the Urban Housing Crisis" with National Committee member Debbie Meier as speaker.
