Mollie Lieber West
We honor your life long commitment to
fighting for social, economic, gender and racial justice.
You have been an exemplary trade unionist,
serving your local, Chicago Typographical Union Local 16, for
over 25 years as a delegate to the Chicago Federation of Labor
and the Illinois State AFL-CIO.
You have been a pioneer for women in
labor. You were the first woman to be elected delegate to your
union convention, to win an Executive Committee position in your
local, and to be elected in your local as a Vice President.
You were one of the founding members
of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW). You were honored
in 1988 as the Chicago Woman of the Year, the first labor activist
so honored, and in 1990 were inducted into the Chicago Women's
Hall of Fame as the labor representative.
You are active in N.O.W., League of
Women Voters, National Council of Senior Citizens and hold the
important position of Secretary of the Illinois Labor History
Society.
For your dedication to the cause of

Harrington Dinner Committee hereby proudly presents you with
