The 2007 Eugene V. Debs - Norman Thomas
- Michael Harrington Dinner was held on Friday evening, May 4th,
at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. The Master of Ceremonies was DSA's
National Director, Frank Llewellyn. It was a North American program,
with a special guest speaker, Saul Escobar Toledo, the International
Secretary of the Party of Democratic Revolution in Mexico. Our
honorees were the President of the United Steelworkers, Leo Gerard
(from Canada), and the Director of the Illinois Coaliton for
Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Josh Hoyt (from Chicago). Frank
Llewellyn presented the Debs - Thomas - Harrington award to Leo
Gerard. Chicago DSA's Co-Chair, Tom Broderick, presented the
Debs - Thomas - Harrington award to Josh Hoyt. GOP DSA's Ron
Baiman accompanied the attendees on violin when it came time
to sing "Solidarity Forever".
