49th Annual Debs - Thomas - Harrington Dinner

The 2007 Eugene V. Debs - Norman Thomas - Michael Harrington Dinner was held on Friday evening, May 4th, at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. The Master of Ceremonies was DSA's National Director, Frank Llewellyn. It was a North American program, with a special guest speaker, Saul Escobar Toledo, the International Secretary of the Party of Democratic Revolution in Mexico. Our honorees were the President of the United Steelworkers, Leo Gerard (from Canada), and the Director of the Illinois Coaliton for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Josh Hoyt (from Chicago). Frank Llewellyn presented the Debs - Thomas - Harrington award to Leo Gerard. Chicago DSA's Co-Chair, Tom Broderick, presented the Debs - Thomas - Harrington award to Josh Hoyt. GOP DSA's Ron Baiman accompanied the attendees on violin when it came time to sing "Solidarity Forever".
