Preserving Pilsen: Future of Green Space and Affordable Housing

June 6, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC+0

The CDSA Housing Working Group has endorsed a project to influence the city of Chicago’s 5 Year Plan for housing. As part of that project, our coalition will be holding multiple townhalls throughout the city all summer to gain input from the community for what should be in the city’s 5 year plan to bring tangible investments in making Chicago a livable city for the residents who call this city home. This event is the first of our summer community meetings. Please join us and our community partners Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 6pm at the National Museum of Mexican Art to outline a community driven plan to preserve Pilsen future of Green Space, Affordable Housing and Equitable Economic Development. This event will discuss how we can help maintain Pilsen historic culture and how to best address developments along El Paseo trail. Major projects like 18th and Peoria, the Gentry, Mural Park and Hilco (former Fisk Coal Plant) all pose significant challenge for Pilsen to maintain affordable housing, community driven economic development and preservation of green space. Please come and participate with us! Event is open to the public and is accessible!
